Julia McDowell is the founder and chief strategist of Five Ones, a woman-owned creative consultancy she launched in 2017 for nonprofits, associations, and mission-driven organizations. She came up through DC-area sales and rose to president of an advertising agency before going out on her own, and in 25 years of marketing, she has earned two Effie Awards for effectiveness. At Five Ones, she leads work that runs from marketing audits and full rebrands to member recruitment and retention programs, PSA campaign management, and fractional CMO engagements.
